稳步推进防疫和教学工作
学校再次郑重宣布：君诚学校无一确诊病例，也无一疑似病例。
根据北京市教委要求，君诚学校2020年春季延期开学，具体开学时间将根据疫情防控情况，经科学评估后确定。开学时间一经确定，将提前向社会公布，敬请留意君诚官方公众号通知。
Under the serious epidemic circumstance, unity is strength. Since the school announced the rumor-contradicting statement, there are still some false information and documents going viral on the internet, saying that our school has the confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus. The news came into the parents Wechat groups of SIBS, making them filled with indignation. They firmly decided to file their complaints to those WeChat Subscription accounts that created panic emotions to defend the benefit of the extended SIBS community.
SIBS hereby announces solemnly for a second time that our school does not have any confirmed or suspected cases of coronavirus infection.
According to the requirements of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, spring 2020 semester’s starting time will be postponed. The specific start time will be determined after scientific evaluation based on the epidemic prevention and control situation. Once the start time is determined, it will be announced to the public in advance. Please pay attention to the official public notice of SIBS Wechat account.
Under the leadership of Dr.Simon Chen, the epidemic prevention and online teaching programs are progressing steadily. All our businesses in our school are running normally and orderly in that enough work and planning have been done in advance. The leaders and teachers of our school ended their winter vacation earlier than scheduled and committed themselves to fighting the coronavirus. Our leaders compiled the "online school" guide in a short time, and all our Chinese and foreign teachers worked hard together from at home and abroad to put the online platform Managebac into use. Despite the fact that the preparatory work for online courses is two to three times as much as regular work and that the teachers’ one-on-one marking assignments causes stinging eyes, everything done is worth their efforts to avoid our students from wasting their winter break.

Second week’s feedback on online teaching
This week online learning by SIBS continues for the consecutive second week. Our teachers overcome difficulty in working in different places, working from home, lacking tools and adapting to new platforms and the likes, and do their best to provide online guidance to ensure the continuity of students' learning. Based on the second week’s questionnaire investigation, the overall satisfaction rate of students and parents was between 3.9-4.3 ( out of 5), which was higher over that for the first week.
In fact, online teaching is another good opportunity for students to grow quickly. Without the teachers’ real-time supervision and classmates’ interaction, students before screen can learn how to attentively improve their high study efficiency and how to behave themselves and use their time well. We hereby appreciate parents’ tolerance, understanding and support. You have given our teachers enough encouragement to make us more confident of confronting any challenge. Finally, let's take a look at the wonderful performance of the children and some inspirational and warm words from the parents.

小学部“抗击疫情”征文活动开启啦Essay Contest on Primary School's “Fight Against Epidemic” starts
In recent days, the outbreak of the novel coronavirus epidemic has raised the concerns of the whole country. To show the positive attitude of our students facing the epidemic and loving our nation, we have launched an essay contest. During the epidemic period, every student is a "little soldier". Any essay is warmly welcome.
The solicitation requirements are as follows:
Essay’s theme
(1) Defeating the epidemic, sharing earth(resources), and talking about the impact of the epidemic on China
(2) Wildlife Protection
(3) The Retrograder in the Age of Heroes
(You can choose either one of the themes above, and the title of the essay can be determined by yourself.)
2. Essay Content and forms of expressions
(1) The lower grades : in the form of manual reports and mind maps
(2) The upper grades : in a variety of forms such as writing, making short videos, self-reporting, and deduction.
3. Thinking angle:
(1) What is the epidemic situation?
(2) Why does it happen?
(3) How does it relate to our lives?
(4) What changes has it brought to our lives?
(5) What responsibilities do we have?

国际和平伙伴艺术竞赛参赛通知Announcement of participation in Peace Pal Competition
为了培养学生更好的热爱世界和平，热爱和谐社会的理念，通过各种创造性活动促进对人类家庭和自然界的多样性和统一性的理解和尊重，我校参与了国际和平伙伴艺术竞赛，具体学生参赛要求请查询教务处通知或咨询班主任。了解更多详情请登录官方网站https://peacepalsinternational.org/ 国际和平伙伴艺术竞赛2020颁奖典礼和展览将是一个特别的节目。获奖作品将在2020年东京奥运会期间在日本公布和展出。日期和地点将在日后公布。
For the purpose to cultivate students’ interest in building connection with the world, the concept of the world peace and harmonious society, and to promote students’ understanding and respect of the diversity and unity of human’s family and nature through various activities, SIBS has participated in the Peace Pal Competition. The Peace Pal Competition 2020 awards ceremony and exhibition will be a special program. The winning entries will be announced and exhibited in Japan during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The date and place will be announced in the future.

2月12日，我校陈晓民博士和升学指导老师马彩虹通过线上课程，为中学部全体学生带来关于《如何规划暑期活动》的专题讲座。深刻解析了暑期活动对于申请海外大学及学生个人发展的重要性，讲述了什么样的活动值得学生参加以及如何挑选适合的活动，并介绍了暑期活动的分类及其特点。同时，鼓励同学们在满足学业要求的同时多多参与暑期活动，为以后的海外大学申请增加竞争力。
On February 12, Dr. Xiaoming Chen, the Head of school and Caihong Ma, the advisor for further studies, gave a special lecture on how to plan summer activities for all students in the MSHS through online courses. It profoundly analyzed the importance of summer activities in benefiting students’ application of overseas universities and students’ personal development; described what activities are worth participating in and how to choose suitable activities; and introduced different categories and characteristics of summer activities. At the mean time, it encouraged students to participate in summer activities while they are studying to meet academic requirements so as to increase competitiveness for overseas university applications.
